Darko Banjac promotes ojkača folk song tradition at Moštanica

Darko Banjac, president of the NPS, attended the traditional 'Veče ojkače' festival near the Moštanica monastery to celebrate the ojkača folk song. He described the song as an expression of courage, defiance, and pride for the people of Potkozarje.

Banjac emphasized that this form of folk creativity is a valuable cultural legacy of the Serbian people in the region. He noted that the Moštanica monastery has historically served as a protector of faith and culture. To ensure the survival of the ojkača tradition for younger generations, Banjac called for institutional support, state strategies, and increased visibility through media and prize funds.
