Darko Jorgić defeats Deni Kožul at WTT Smash Malmö

Darko Jorgić defeated fellow Slovenian Deni Kožul 3-1 in the first round of the WTT Smash tournament in Malmö, Sweden. The match marked the first time the two compatriots faced each other in a WTT tournament.

Kožul, ranked 97th in the world, had secured his place in the main draw through the qualification rounds by defeating Tiago Apolónia, Andreas Levenek, and Park Gyuhyeon. Jorgić, ranked 15th globally, had qualified directly for the main tournament. Despite an early 8-1 lead by Kožul, Jorgić managed to turn the match around to secure the victory.

The two players also competed together in the doubles category, where they were eliminated in the first round by the Swedish duo Kristian Karlsson and Anton Källberg in a 3-2 match.
