Darktable releases 5.6.1 update with AI and GPU improvements

Darktable has released version 5.6.1, the first maintenance update in the 5.6 series for the open-source photography workflow and RAW development application. The update introduces several improvements to AI-based processing features, including the ability to resume AI model downloads after interruptions and background checks for updates to prevent interface unresponsiveness.

Technical fixes have been applied to the AI RAW denoise feature, such as preventing its use with older Fujifilm Super CCD sensors and ensuring that processed images retain metadata like color labels, ratings, and EXIF information. The update also addresses issues within Neural Restore, including crashes related to specific RAW file formats and incorrect previews for Apple ProRAW and other computational RAW images.

On the hardware side, the release improves GPU stability by fixing a bug that disabled AMD OpenCL devices on Windows and addressing pixel corruption on certain AMD GPUs. Additionally, the update optimizes OpenCL memory handling to reduce excessive allocations, which should improve stability and performance on systems with limited memory.
