Darmstadt and Elversberg schedule extra preseason friendlies
SV Darmstadt 98 has added a fourth test match to its pre‑season programme, playing against FC Astoria Walldorf after earlier games versus SG Arheilgen, VfR Fehlheim and FC Homburg. Coach Florian Kohfeldt said the club needs “Spielzeit, Spielzeit, Spielzeit” to develop patterns that can’t be trained, and the team will travel to a training camp in Bad Wörishofen before opening the 2. Bundesliga against Portsmouth.
Promoted SV Elversberg, now in the Bundesliga, is also expanding its preparation. Head coach Vincent Wagner emphasised an attacking approach, stating “Uns ist egal, wer da kommt. Wir werden unser Spiel spielen.” The club will face Swiss champions FC Thun and third‑division side Viktoria Köln in test matches, while also gearing up for league fixtures against Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern München and other top clubs. Injuries to defender Luis Seifert have reduced defensive options, but Wagner remains satisfied with the early preparation.
