Darío Barassi stars in new Disney+ black comedy series

The new black comedy series ‘Gutiérrez is mai neim’ has premiered on Disney+. Produced by Pampa Films and directed by Jesús Braceras, the eight-episode series stars Darío Barassi and Yayo Guridi.

The plot follows sub-commissioner Roberto Gutiérrez (Barassi) and lieutenant Rubén Torcoletti (Guridi), two police officers in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area who become involved in investigating the murder of a Russian ambassador in Argentina. As the CIA attempts to take control of the case, the duo uses questionable methods to conduct their own parallel investigation.

Following an exclusive avant premiere at Cinemark Palermo, the series explores themes of local culture, including settings such as bingos and cabarets, while offering a satirical critique of security forces and international intelligence. Barassi noted that the role required a significant physical transformation and a departure from his usual comedic style to fit the gritty, dark tone of the production.
