Various criminal incidents reported across Africa and Europe

Multiple violent incidents and legal rulings have been reported across several regions. In Burkina Faso, a man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Dori High Court for a brutal assault on his partner, who was disfigured with acid after refusing to terminate a pregnancy.

In Senegal, a fatal altercation in Darou Khoudoss resulted in the death of Ibrahima Seck, who was allegedly stabbed by a friend known as “Dio”. The suspect remains at large as gendarmerie investigations continue. In Madagascar, an 18-year-old man died after being stabbed during a brawl at a performance in Ambositra, leading to local unrest and police intervention to prevent mob justice.

Other notable cases include a 20-year prison sentence handed to a man in France for an attempted murder in Rennes, and an 18-month sentence for a man in Beauvais convicted of domestic violence. In Côte d’Ivoire, a two-year-old child reportedly died in a house fire in Yamoussoukro after being left alone with a lit candle. In Guinea, the death of Saifoulaye Bah in prison has raised questions regarding judicial delays and the use of state authority.
