Darphane releases limited silver coin honoring TCG Anadolu

The Turkish State Mint (Darphane ve Damga Matbaası Genel Müdürlüğü) has released a limited-edition silver commemorative coin honoring the TCG Anadolu, a multi-purpose amphibious assault ship. This marks the second installment in the Mint’s Defense Industry Series, following the previous release dedicated to the T625 Gökbey helicopter.

The coin is crafted from 925 sterling silver, weighing 31.10 grams with a diameter of 38.61 millimeters. It carries a nominal value of 20 Turkish Liras. Production is strictly limited to 3,000 units. The coins are available for purchase through the Mint’s collection store in Beşiktaş and its official e-store at a price of 5,250 Turkish Liras.

TCG Anadolu is noted for its strategic capabilities, serving as one of the world’s first ships capable of deploying armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The vessel can accommodate over 30 manned and unmanned aircraft, including helicopters and fixed-wing planes, and features medical facilities including operating rooms and intensive care units for humanitarian missions.
