Darren Waller agrees to one-year deal with Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran tight end Darren Waller, according to reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The 33-year-old free agent joins the roster following a 2025 season with the Miami Dolphins.
During his tenure in Miami, Waller appeared in nine games, recording 283 receiving yards and six touchdowns. His season was hampered by injuries, including stints on injured reserve due to pectoral and groin issues. Before his time with the Dolphins and a brief stint with the New York Giants, Waller was a Pro Bowler with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he recorded back-to-back seasons of over 1,100 receiving yards.
Waller will join a Panthers tight end corps that includes Tommy Tremble, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and James Mitchell. The move comes as Carolina looks to bolster its red zone efficiency following an 8-9 season that saw the team reach the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
