Darryn Peterson scores 28 in NBA Summer League debut as Jazz beat Hawks

Darryn Peterson, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2026 NBA draft, opened his professional career with a 28‑point performance for the Utah Jazz in the Salt Lake City Summer League. He shot 11‑of‑21 from the field, added five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and eight turnovers in 27 minutes, helping Utah defeat the Atlanta Hawks 103‑102 in overtime.

Peterson said, "I've been training super hard, manifesting this game since the season ended. To be out there and finally put a jersey on… is a huge honor and privilege." Head coach Will Hardy praised his aggression and poise despite the turnovers.

Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 pick, also debuted for the Memphis Grizzlies, posting 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in a 111‑74 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
