Darüsselam Girls' Orphanage Opens in Chad's Capital N'Djamena

The International Brotherhood Mobilization Association (UKABDER) completed construction of the Darüsselam Kız Sevgi Evi, a girls' orphanage in N'Djamena, Chad, and inaugurated it in January 2026. The 11‑acre complex, modeled on historic Ottoman külliye architecture, provides shelter, food, clothing, health care and education for disadvantaged orphan girls. In addition to standard accommodation, the centre offers continuous academic schooling and Quranic memorisation programmes.

The site also includes a 120‑bed male orphan facility (Darül Ferah Erkek Umut Evi), a mosque named Fatih Sultan Mehmet Han Camii, and a modern school called the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan School. All basic needs are funded by UKABDER, with Turkish support highlighted by General President Murat Uğur, who said the project represents Turkey’s charitable presence in Africa.

The Darüsselam Kız Sevgi Evi aims to give orphaned girls a safe, modern living environment and to prepare them for schooling and broader social participation.
