Darth Vader lightsaber to be auctioned for at least $1 million

Heritage Auctions will host the ‘Ultimate Star Wars Auction’ on November 12, featuring several iconic props from the franchise. A primary highlight is the Darth Vader lightsaber used during the climactic duel in Cloud City in ‘The Empire Strikes Back,’ where the character reveals his identity to Luke Skywalker. This specific saber, also used in ‘Return of the Jedi,’ is expected to fetch at least $1 million.

The auction includes various other items from Episodes I through IX, such as lightsabers used by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, which are estimated to sell for at least $10,000 each. Other notable pieces include Boba Fett’s EE-3 carbine blaster, a Yoda puppet hand, and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’

This event follows a record-breaking sale in July, when a lightsaber used by Mark Hamill in the same scene from ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ sold for $3.75 million, the highest price ever recorded for a Star Wars film prop.
