Darth Vader’s lightsaber to be auctioned for over $1 million

Heritage Auctions will host the ‘Ultimate Star Wars Auction’ on November 12, featuring a collection of iconic props from the franchise. The centerpiece is the lightsaber used by Darth Vader during the climactic duel with Luke Skywalker in ‘The Empire Strikes Back,’ which is expected to fetch at least $1 million.

The auction includes more than two dozen lightsaber props spanning Episodes I through IX. Notable items include lightsabers used by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in ‘Revenge of the Sith,’ estimated at $10,000 each, and an EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett, estimated to exceed $100,000.

Other significant memorabilia includes a Yoda puppet hand used by Frank Oz, a signed third-draft screenplay for the original 1977 film by actor Anthony Daniels, and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’ This auction follows a record-breaking sale in July, where a lightsaber featuring Luke Skywalker’s severed hand sold for $3.75 million.
