Dartmouth College endowment crypto holdings fall to $12 million
The Dartmouth College endowment saw its cryptocurrency-related holdings decrease by approximately $2 million due to market volatility. According to SEC filings, the value of its three spot crypto ETF positions fell from roughly $14.6 million at the end of March to about $12.4 million by June 30.
The endowment’s portfolio includes shares in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF, the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, and Grayscale’s Ethereum Staking ETF. Notably, Dartmouth has shifted its strategy toward staking products, which allow the institution to capture yield from the underlying assets. The addition of the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF makes Dartmouth one of the first major US university endowments to hold a Solana-linked product.
The decline in value aligns with broader market movements during the period, including price drops in Bitcoin, Solana, and Ether.
