Dartmouth police arrest man following woman's death

Devon & Cornwall Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in her 40s in Dartmouth. Emergency services were called to Newcomen Road at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, where the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Additionally, a man in his 40s was hospitalized with facial injuries that are not expected to be life-changing.

Detective Inspector Guy Biggar of the Major Crime Investigation Team stated that there is no indication of a wider threat to the public and that the incident is being treated as isolated. Police have requested that the community refrain from speculating on social media while enquiries continue.
