Dartmouth women's soccer wins season opener 2-1 against UMass Lowell

The Dartmouth women's soccer team opened its 2026 season with a 2-1 victory over UMass Lowell at Burnham Field in Hanover, New Hampshire. The defending Ivy League Tournament champions established an early lead in the first half, outshooting the River Hawks 10-2 during the opening 45 minutes.

Emmanuella Frimpomaa scored the first goal of the season following an assist from Maeve Theobald. Shortly after, Nadia Young extended the lead with a goal from beyond the top of the circle. Although UMass Lowell scored in the second half to narrow the margin to 2-1, Dartmouth maintained its advantage to secure the win.

Dartmouth goalkeeper Ola Goebel recorded three saves to help protect the lead. The victory improves Dartmouth's all-time record against UMass Lowell to 7-1-1. The team is scheduled to play the University of New Hampshire next on August 23.
