Darts players pursue World Championship qualification

Raymond van Barneveld faces several paths to qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship. Currently ranked 49th, he sits just outside the automatic qualification spots provided by the Order of Merit. To secure a place at the tournament in London, he must navigate the ProTour rankings, with experts suggesting that winning one or two rounds in upcoming Players Championship tournaments in Leicester could be his most viable route.

In a separate development, Jitse van der Wal has secured a spot at the WDF World Championship at Lakeside in England. The 27-year-old from Dokkum won the qualification tournament convincingly, winning his final match 6-0 against Kevin Cottiss. This achievement follows a period where Van der Wal had stepped back from the professional circuit due to mental health challenges.
