The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) will host a community event titled ‘Celebrate: An Afternoon of Filipino Creativity and Culture’ on November 7, 2026, in Darwin.
The free event will showcase Filipino visual arts, music, cuisine, and both traditional and contemporary dance. The program includes a presentation by MAGNT Curator of Southeast Asian Art and Material Culture, Emily Collins, regarding the museum’s history of collecting Philippine artworks.
Featured activities include a live painting demonstration by artist Rhenz Flores, music by DJ Kuya James, and Filipino-inspired food from Chef Jan-Jan of El Kusinero. The celebration is held on Larrakia Country to recognize the contributions of Filipino creatives to the Northern Territory.
