Das Erste broadcasts Holocaust film ‘Lauf Junge lauf’ during KinoFestival
The German public‑service channel Das Erste is repeating the film “Lauf Junge lauf” as part of its KinoFestival. Directed by Pepe Danquart and scripted with Heinrich Hadding, the movie adapts Uri Orlev’s youth bestseller that recounts the Holocaust experiences of survivor Yoram Fridman. It follows nine‑year‑old Srulik (named Andrzej or Kamil Tkacz) as he flees the 1942 Warsaw Ghetto, survives in the surrounding forests, and encounters other Jewish boys, Polish farmers and partisans.
The broadcast is scheduled for a late‑night slot and the drama is also available on Das Erste’s Mediathek for on‑demand viewing.
