Dash cam manufacturers introduce high-resolution and integrated hardware

The dash cam market is seeing new developments in high-resolution imaging and integrated vehicle design. The 70mai A900 Ultra features dual-channel 4K recording using Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensors for both front and rear cameras. This model includes features such as Night Owl Vision 2.0, Wi-Fi 6, built-in GPS, and an ADAS driver fatigue alert, utilizing a supercapacitor instead of a battery.

In the United States, Mangoal is introducing vehicle-specific dash cams designed to replace or fit into the original housing of a car’s rearview mirror. This approach aims to reduce visual clutter and visible wiring. Mangoal offers compatible housings for over 300 vehicle models, including brands such as Ford, Toyota, BMW, and Mercedes. Their lineup includes the Elite series, which utilizes Sony STARVIS 2 sensors for 4K recording, and the Core series, which uses Sony IMX335 sensors for 4K UHD recording.
