DASH cast begins building custom trailer house in Fukushima

Cast members of the Japanese variety program ‘The! Tetsuwan! DASH!!’ have begun construction on a custom-built trailer house in Otama Village, Fukushima Prefecture. The project is part of the ‘DASH My (Rice) Dream’ initiative, aimed at delivering the harvest from their 26th year of rice farming to viewers across the country.

The trailer house features a boat-shaped design incorporating ideas from Shigeru Kojima, Shintaro Morimoto, and Joichiro Fujiwara. Construction involves using local Fukushima timber for flooring and a central pillar sourced from wood used to rebuild the DASH Village office 23 years ago. To assist with the labor-intensive build, local high school students and J-League players have joined the effort.

In addition to the construction progress, the group held a summer festival to thank local residents, featuring large-scale festival food and a ‘somen slider’ attraction.
