Air fryer market sees global growth and product innovation
The global air fryer market continues to see significant consumer interest, driven by a demand for healthier cooking alternatives and space-saving kitchen technology. In India, Philips has launched a new campaign, ‘Airfryer Matlab Philips’, featuring actor Sushmita Sen to strengthen its position as the leading brand in the country.
Product innovation and variety are defining the sector. Ninja has introduced the Crispi Pro, which utilizes a modular glass container system to allow users to monitor the cooking process. In France, Moulinex is marketing compact 15L multifunctional air fryer ovens designed for small kitchens. Meanwhile, budget-friendly options remain popular, with various models in India priced under Rs 6,000 and highly-rated compact models in the US priced under $60.
Despite the popularity, the appliance faces criticism regarding its versatility and the texture of food compared to traditional deep frying. While proponents highlight benefits such as reduced oil usage, faster cooking times, and easier cleanup, some consumers argue that the devices do not always meet the high expectations set by marketing or fail to replace traditional ovens for certain tasks.
