In Loudoun County, Virginia, data centers contribute approximately 40 percent of the county’s tax revenue, which helps fund public services and the maintenance of over 4,000 acres of parks and nature reserves. Similarly, in Richland Parish, Louisiana, tax revenue from the construction of a Meta data center enabled significant year-end bonuses for local school district teachers and staff.

Beyond direct taxation, data centers are viewed as critical infrastructure for the artificial intelligence industry, potentially driving economic growth and technological efficiencies that allow for more resource-effective computing.
