Banreservas President urges integrated compliance to combat financial risks

During the 4th Congress on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, Leonardo Aguilera, Executive President of Banreservas, emphasized the need for financial institutions to evolve alongside emerging technological risks. He stated that compliance and regulatory adherence are central to the solidity and credibility of the Dominican financial system.

Aguilera argued that prevention should be integrated into business operations rather than acting as a mere obstacle to legitimate clients. He highlighted that cybersecurity and the protection of client data are strategic priorities for his management.

In the same forum, Steven Puig, President of Banco BHD, discussed the importance of managing compliance risks from high-level management to ensure institutional stability.
