Data science and applied economics academic and professional opportunities

Educational institutions and industry professionals are highlighting various pathways in data science and economics. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences offers an online Master of Agricultural and Applied Economics. This 24-month, 30-credit-hour program focuses on commodity markets, food systems, and economic modeling using tools like R and Python.

Additionally, a Data Science event co-hosted with the Women in Data Science club features Alena Korshunova, a Principal Business Intelligence Analyst at FM Global. The event aims to discuss professional opportunities in industry and academia, alongside presentations on AI opportunities and faculty research at the University of Rhode Island.
