Datadog expands observability suite with AI-driven user journey monitoring

Datadog, a cloud observability and security platform, has expanded its Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) suite with new AI-driven features designed to track user journeys and application performance.

The new capabilities include Journey Monitoring and Bits Testing. Journey Monitoring provides a unified view of conversion, traffic, and availability for critical business flows, such as checkouts and sign-ins, by integrating data from Real User Monitoring, Synthetic Monitoring, and Product Analytics. This allows technical teams to identify why conversions may drop and monitor high-volume user paths.

Bits Testing utilizes plain-language prompts to build coverage and introduces goal-based synthetic testing. Unlike traditional script-based testing, this method verifies specific outcomes, allowing tests to remain effective even when applications undergo redesigns or incorporate AI features with variable outputs.

Datadog’s platform serves DevOps, SRE, and IT teams by correlating metrics, logs, traces, and events from diverse sources including servers, containers, and serverless functions to reduce incident identification time.
