Datafolha poll shows voters value presidential debates
A Datafolha poll regarding the presidential second round indicates that 78% of voters consider the participation of candidates Flávio Bolsonaro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in debates to be very important. Despite the perceived importance of these debates, 82% of respondents stated they would not change their vote based on debate performances.
In a separate analysis, Federal Deputy-elect João Paulo Cunha suggested that the absence of a second round for state government positions in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo may benefit Lula by allowing the political debate to focus on national issues. This context follows Datafolha results showing a technical tie in the presidential race, with Flávio Bolsonaro at 52% and Lula at 48% of valid votes.
