Mining companies announce major exploration and acquisition moves
Several mining companies have announced significant operational developments and expansions.
In Australia, Red Metal Limited has applied for 17 additional tenements in Queensland to expand its search for iron oxide-copper-gold deposits, covering a 5,800 square kilometre area. Accelerate Resources has secured 100 per cent control of its Woodie Woodie North manganese project in the Pilbara through share-only agreements, eliminating legacy royalties and cash obligations. Meanwhile, Orbit Resources reported hitting two broad zones of strong sulphide mineralisation at its Lewis Ponds project in New South Wales during a diamond drilling campaign.
In Suriname, Critical Resources has reached an agreement to acquire a 90 per cent stake in the Gonini gold project, a move that resulted in a 29 per cent increase in the company's share price.
Additionally, Dateline Resources is seeking to restart operations at its Colosseum gold-rare earths project in California following support from the US Department of Justice and the Department of War, which argue the project is in the interest of national security.
