Datest to showcase space hardware inspection at SmallSat 2026

Datest, a provider of test engineering and failure analysis services, will exhibit at the 40th Annual Small Satellite Conference, scheduled for August 23–26, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The company intends to demonstrate how advanced computed tomography (CT) scanning, X-ray inspection, and failure analysis can improve the reliability of complex small satellite hardware. These technologies allow engineers to gain three-dimensional visibility into internal structures, such as dense electronics and additive-manufactured components, to identify defects like internal voids, cracks, or solder joint anomalies without using destructive inspection methods.

According to Rob Boguski of Datest, these capabilities are vital for design validation, prototype evaluation, and pre-launch verification, as the ability to correct hardware issues changes significantly once a mission has launched.
