Datteln reinstates traditional Bierkrugfest

Bierkrugfest Dattelner Herbst beer mug tradition Datteln event

The traditional Bierkrugfest is returning to Datteln as part of the expanded Dattelner Herbst festival weekend, scheduled for October 9 to 11, 2026. A central feature of the event is the return of a specially designed clay beer mug.

Vouchers for the mug are available for 22 euros at five local locations, including Kaufhaus Danielsmeier, Juwelier Sternemann, Gaststätte Zur Krone, Tabakwaren Ketzberg, and the Dattelner Erlebnisschmiede. The price includes the clay mug and two refills to be redeemed during the festival on Saturday and Sunday. The mug can be collected at Gaststätte Zur Krone, even if the holder cannot attend the festival weekend.

The festival weekend begins on Friday with a market at Tigg, followed by the Bierkrugfest on Saturday, and concludes on Sunday with the Dattelner Herbst, featuring a Holland market and a truck meeting.
