Daum Corp. rebrands from AXZ, shifts to AI‑powered portal
On July 27, 2024 the company operating the Daum portal announced that it will change its corporate name from AXZ to Daum Corp. The decision was approved at an extraordinary shareholders meeting held on July 20, 2024. The name change is intended to align the company’s identity with its flagship service, Daum, and to strengthen communication with users and partners.
Daum Corp. said that the rebranding will not affect existing services, user accounts or usage methods. It plans to revamp its corporate website and official channels and to integrate artificial‑intelligence technology across the portal. AI‑enhanced search will move beyond keyword matching to understand user queries, while news and content sections will receive personalized recommendations and summarisation features. The company also aims to boost its community platforms, including Cafe and Tistory. CEO Geonsoo Lee emphasized that the move will combine Daum’s 30‑year legacy with AI to lead the next generation of internet services.
