Daun: Three high-value mountain bikes stolen during marathon

Three high-value mountain bikes were stolen in Daun, Germany, during the Vulkan-Bike-Marathon event on September 12, 2026. The thefts occurred in two separate incidents.

The first theft took place around 09:45 near the marketplace. A participant left a white and red GT Zaskar carbon-frame mountain bike, valued at approximately 7,500 EUR, unattended while using mobile toilets.

The second incident occurred between 12:00 and 12:50 on Rosenbergstraße. Two Cannondale Mottera Carbon SL 2 e-mountainbikes, one black and one grey, were stolen from a vehicle's bike carrier despite being secured. The combined value of these two e-bikes is estimated at 11,000 EUR.

Local police are requesting that anyone with information regarding the perpetrators contact the Daun police station.
