DAV sections expand climbing course offerings in Germany

The German Alpine Club (DAV) is expanding its climbing education programs through various regional sections. The Rhein-Sieg section is introducing a new concept to facilitate entry into the sport and support continuous development. Their upcoming offerings include introductory sessions, top rope courses, and lead climbing courses, scheduled approximately once a month as a trial period through summer 2027.

In Amberg, the DAV section is organizing introductory climbing sessions specifically for youths aged 7 to 16. These sessions, held during the winter months, cover playful top rope climbing, equipment familiarity, and basic belay techniques. The Amberg program provides all necessary equipment and is led by trained youth leaders.
