Davao City police hunt suspects after Matina robbery and shooting

Police in Davao City have launched a dragnet operation following a series of robberies and a shooting in the Matina area on October 6. CCTV footage captured the incidents, which began at Marwerks Garage in the GSIS Matina area.

Mar Israel, the owner of the garage, reported that an older man arriving on a black Honda Click motorcycle entered the shop and pointed a firearm at those inside. During a confrontation, Israel was shot in the right forearm; the bullet passed through his arm but did not hit any bone, according to medical reports from Brokenshire Hospital. An unidentified woman inside the establishment also had personal belongings taken.

Following the garage robbery, the suspects reportedly moved to a mini grocery store in Matina Aplaya, where they stole more than ₱2,000 in cash. The Davao City Police Office is offering a ₱500,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects and their companion.
