Davao police deploy 6,000 personnel for Undas 2026

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and Police Regional Office 11 (PRO-Davao) are preparing a large-scale security deployment for the 2026 Undas observance. Approximately 6,000 police personnel will be stationed across the Davao Region to cover roughly 200 cemeteries, churches, tourist sites, and transportation hubs.

In Davao City, the DCPO will implement a 90:10 deployment scheme, dedicating 90% of its force to field operations and 10% to administrative duties. Security measures include manning entry checkpoints at cemeteries to enforce bans on firearms, bladed weapons, and non-transparent water containers. While matches and lighters will be permitted for lighting candles, cigarettes will be confiscated in accordance with local anti-smoking ordinances.

Police officials have conducted inspections at sites such as the Wireless Public Cemetery and Davao Memorial Park to finalize traffic management and site readiness. Assistance desks will be established at each cemetery, and personnel will remain on duty overnight at designated locations after standard operating hours end.
