Davao Region shows economic strength through low unemployment and industrial growth

The Davao Region is demonstrating strong economic performance through low unemployment and expanding industrial capacity. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the region recorded a 2.5% unemployment rate in April 2026, which was 2.2 percentage points lower than the national rate of 4.7% during the same period.

Complementing these labor statistics, the region's industrial sector is growing through export-oriented manufacturing. Damosa Land, Inc.’s Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE) currently hosts 24 operational locators, with 70% of these businesses focused on export manufacturing. Notable locators include HEAD Sport, Novococonut, Inc., and GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corporation.

These developments align with broader regional trends, as Mindanao's economy grew by 4.69% in 2025, outpacing the national growth rate of 4.40%. The Davao Region remains a primary economic driver, ranking as the fifth-largest economy in the Philippines with a gross regional domestic product of ₱1.14 trillion in 2025.
