Dave Aranda takes responsibility for Baylor offensive struggles
Baylor Bears head coach Dave Aranda has taken full responsibility for the team’s offensive struggles following a 17-6 loss to TCU. During a recent press conference, Aranda identified the offensive line as a primary issue, noting failures in both pass protection and run blocking. The unit allowed four sacks and recorded a season-low 54 rushing yards during the matchup.
Aranda emphasized the urgency of addressing these front-line issues to provide better protection for quarterback DJ and to establish a more effective run game. While acknowledging the offensive struggles, he praised the defensive line for a strong performance that kept the opponent under 20 points.
Looking ahead, Baylor (4-2, 2-1) is scheduled to face the Kansas Jayhawks (2-4, 0-3) in Lawrence, Kansas. Aranda noted that defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman’s familiarity with Kansas will be an asset, though he warned that the Jayhawks' explosive playmakers and varied run schemes present a significant challenge.
