Dave Dickenson to return as Calgary Stampeders head coach and GM

Dave Dickenson will return to his roles as head coach and general manager of the Calgary Stampeders next season. A team official confirmed the decision on Wednesday.

Dickenson, a former star quarterback for both Calgary and the B.C. Lions, has served as head coach since 2016 and assumed general manager duties in 2023. The move comes after the Stampeders missed the playoffs for the second time in three years, finishing the season with a 9-9 record.

While the team scored a league-high 632 points, they struggled defensively, allowing 587 points. This recent performance follows the end of an 18-consecutive-season playoff streak that concluded in 2024.
