Dave Franco stars in upcoming comedy film ‘Idiots’

The upcoming comedy film ‘Idiots’, written and directed by Macon Blair, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on August 28. The film stars Dave Franco, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Mason Thames, and Kiernan Shipka.

The plot follows two unqualified individuals, played by Franco and Jackson, who are hired to transport a wealthy teenager to a rehabilitation center, a task that quickly descends into dangerous mayhem. The production features a mix of comedy and elements verging on horror.

Director Macon Blair noted that the film was originally titled ‘The Shitheads’. The decision to change the title to ‘Idiots’ was made by the filmmakers to avoid promotional hurdles and potential social media restrictions, seeking a name that was cleaner and easier to market for a summer release.
