Dave Grohl funded Reed Mullin’s rehab, says Corrosion of Conformity’s Pepper Keenan

Pepper Keenan, singer‑guitarist of Corrosion of Conformity, disclosed on the Garza Podcast that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl paid for a rehabilitation program for the band’s former drummer Reed Mullin. Grohl covered the cost out of his own pocket while Mullin was struggling with serious health problems, including alcohol‑related issues that led to a seizure in 2016. Mullin, a co‑founder of Corrosion of Conformity in 1982, died in January 2020 at age 53. Keenan recalled Mullin’s drumming as “a monster behind the drums” and praised his creative impact on the crossover metal scene. The band’s last album with Mullin was 2018’s *No Cross No Crown*. Since his death, Corrosion of Conformity has continued touring with new drummers, released the double album *Good God / Baad Man* in April 2024, and remains active in North America and Europe.
