Dave Mustaine announces U.S. book tour for new memoir
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has announced a three-city book tour in the United States to support his upcoming memoir, ‘In My Darkest Hour’, co-written with Joe Layden. The memoir is scheduled for release on September 8, 2026, through Grand Central Publishing’s Da Capo imprint.
The book chronicles Mustaine’s personal battle with squamous cell carcinoma, a diagnosis he received in 2019. It details his journey through radiation and chemotherapy, and how the experience influenced his music, including the creation of Megadeth’s sixteenth studio album, ‘The Sick, The Dying…and the Dead!’
The tour includes the following stops:
• September 8: New York City, NY, at the Kaufman Music Center, featuring a conversation with Rolling Stone’s Kory Grow and a fan Q&A. • September 9: Boston, MA, at Parkside Bookshop, including a photo opportunity. • September 10: Manassas, VA, at Barnes & Noble, also including a photo opportunity.
Tickets for the events include a pre-signed copy of the memoir.
