Dave Portnoy reviews five Massachusetts pizza establishments

Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports reviewed five additional Massachusetts pizza establishments in July 2026. This brings his total reviews in the state to 15 for the year so far.

The reviewed locations include Sugar’s Hot Pizza, Cibo Matto Cafe, Towne Tavern, Rehoboth Baking Co., and Pizza Project. None of the July reviews scored below a 7.4 out of 10.

Pizza Project, located in Brighton, received an 8.2 out of 10, making it Portnoy’s highest-rated Massachusetts pizza spot of 2026. The establishment transitioned from a mobile pop-up in 2021 to a permanent storefront in 2023.
