David Alaba nears Udinese transfer after leaving Real Madrid

David Alaba, the 34-year-old Austrian defender, is nearing a move to Italian Serie A club Udinese following his departure from Real Madrid. Having reached a verbal agreement, the former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid star is expected to undergo medical examinations in Rome to finalize the transfer.

Alaba joins Udinese as a free agent after his contract with Real Madrid expired. His career has been marked by significant success, including four Champions League titles, but also by recent struggles with injuries, including a major knee injury in late 2023.

Udinese has signaled the arrival through social media by posting an image of a white chair, a symbolic reference to Alaba’s famous celebration at the Santiago Bernabeu. The move is viewed as a major acquisition for the Friulian club, providing veteran leadership and international experience to their defensive line.
