David Alaba officially presented as new Udinese defender

Udinese Calcio has officially presented Austrian defender David Alaba at the Bluenergy Stadium. The 34-year-old veteran, who previously played for Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, signed a contract through summer 2027.

During the presentation, club officials including General Manager Franco Collavino and Sporting Director Gianluca Nani emphasized the significance of the signing. Nani noted that the deal was finalized quietly over three weeks, marking a shift for the club from selling talent to acquiring established champions.

Alaba stated that he joined Udinese to start a new winning chapter rather than to rely on his past achievements. He expressed readiness to stabilize the defense following injuries to players like Oumar Solet and Matteo Palma. Alaba, who has won multiple Champions League titles, intends to provide leadership and a culture of excellence to the squad under coach Kosta Runjaic.
