David Allan Coe to release posthumous final album ‘A Million Reasons’
Late country music singer David Allan Coe will have a posthumous final album titled ‘A Million Reasons’. The project, which began work in 2017, was revived after former co-manager Ken Madson acquired the tapes in 2022.
The album includes re-recordings of Coe's signature hits, such as ‘You Never Even Called Me By My Name’ and ‘Take This Job and Shove It’. Additionally, Kid Rock co-wrote two tracks on the record: ‘Only God Knows Why’ and ‘Single Father’.
According to songwriter and former co-manager David Wade, the title track ‘A Million Reasons’ was written following a federal court case in Cincinnati where Coe was found guilty of owing the IRS one million dollars. The album is intended to represent Coe's ‘outlaw legacy’ and the life he lived in his later years.
