David Beckham linked to potential FIFA presidency

Speculation has emerged regarding David Beckham as a potential candidate for the FIFA presidency. The 51-year-old former English national team player is being discussed as a possible serious challenger to the incumbent president, Gianni Infantino.

While other figures such as Arsene Wenger have been mentioned, Wenger currently serves as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development under Infantino. Other continental federation presidents, including UEFA’s Aleksander Ceferin and CONCACAF’s Victor Montagliani, have already declined to run, opting to seek reelection in their current roles in 2027.

The candidate nomination period is set to expire on November 18. If no viable candidate emerges, the reelection of Infantino is considered likely. The outcome may depend on the distribution of votes among continental federations, such as UEFA, CONCACAF, and the AFC.
