David Benavidez Nears Unification Bout with Noel Mikaelian

The World Boxing Council confirmed that David Benavidez and Noel Mikaelian are in advanced negotiations for a cruiserweight unification fight. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz said only Don King’s signature remains to finalize the bout, which is expected to be staged in November on a Prime Video/DAZN pay‑per‑view card. Benavidez, the WBA Super and WBO champion, would add the WBC title held by Mikaelian, who has not fought in nearly three years, giving the winner control of three of the four major cruiserweight belts. The IBF version remains vacant after Jai Opetaia was stripped earlier this year, leaving a clear path for the victor to pursue full divisional supremacy.
