David Benavidez says Artur Beterbiev is seeking cruiserweight fight

Boxer David Benavidez has revealed that Artur Beterbiev has actively reached out to his team regarding a potential matchup in the cruiserweight division. Benavidez expressed respect for Beterbiev and described the potential clash as ‘a great fight for the public,’ noting that both fighters are known for their aggressive styles.

Benavidez is currently scheduled to defend his position against Michal Cieslak on December 5, though the prospect of a Beterbiev fight has drawn significant attention. Looking further ahead, Benavidez has expressed interest in fighting Jai Opetaia, Dmitry Bivol, Oleksandr Usyk, and Tyson Fury. He identified Bivol as his toughest technical challenge due to his movement and defense, while also noting his long-term ambition to eventually compete in the heavyweight division.
