David Bowie 80th birthday celebrations announced worldwide

A global series of events titled ‘Bowie80’ has launched to celebrate what would have been the 80th birthday of late music icon David Bowie on January 8, 2027. The initiative includes various releases, collaborations, and fan experiences scheduled throughout the year.

In the United States, Nordstrom is partnering with the campaign to host immersive shops in its Seattle, New York City, and Chicago flagship locations, featuring exclusive collections from brands including Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith, Undercover, and AllSaints. Additionally, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland will host a retail pop-up from mid-November through January, alongside trivia, presentations, and an exhibition of rock and roll photography.

Other scheduled highlights include the ‘Strange Fascination’ photography exhibition at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York City and West Hollywood, as well as a new live symphonic production titled ‘BOWIE (breaking) GLASS’ developed by Schirmer Theatrical and Østre Gasværk Teater.
