David Bowie immersive concert experience to premiere in Berlin

An immersive multimedia concert experience titled ‘Stage’ will make its world premiere at the Uber Arena in Berlin on February 14, 2027, during the Berlin International Film Festival. The production is a collaboration between filmmaker Brett Morgen, the David Bowie Estate, and Rob Hallett’s Wonderworld.

The show is built around restored 35mm film footage from Bowie’s 1978 Isolar II World Tour, which includes previously unseen recordings of his performances at London’s Earl’s Court. The footage was discovered by Morgen during his research for the 2022 documentary ‘Moonage Daydream’.

Designed to blur the line between cinema and a live concert, the production utilizes a three-screen presentation with large-scale projections and transparent LED screens. The experience features lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe and a spatial audio mix by Academy Award winner Paul Massey, using 7.1 surround technology to place the audience at the center of the performance.
