David Byrne's Bicycle Diaries Japanese Edition Hits Stores on August 12

Musician and former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne's 2009 book Bicycle Diaries will be released in a Japanese translation on August 12. The memoir recounts his cycling journeys through cities such as New York, Berlin, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Manila, Sydney and London, offering observations on urban life, culture and social issues.

Alongside the book launch, Byrne has issued a "Biking Playlist" on his David Byrne Radio platform. The playlist features a wide range of pop songs—from Mitski and St. Vincent to Paul McCartney and Harry Styles—illustrating his expansive view of pop music. Byrne noted that the entire band on his ongoing "Who Is the Sky?" tour travels with folding bicycles, using rides to clear their heads between shows. The tour will pass through Asian cities such as Singapore, Jakarta, Tokyo and Seoul before concluding on September 19 at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York.
